Linzhi, Xizang — The 5th China Xizang Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation officially commenced today in Linzhi, presided over by H.E. Ren Wei, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Xizang Autonomous Regional Committee and Executive Vice Chairman of the People’s Government of Xizang Autonomous Region.

The opening ceremony featured addresses from H.E. Wang Junzheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Xizang Autonomous Region, followed by H.E. Wang Guangqian, Vice Chairman of the 14th CPPCC National Committee, Executive Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Democratic League, and Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology.

International representatives delivered remarks, including H.E. Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye, Vice President of Myanmar, and H.E. Rubi Kumari, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal.

After a tea break, the main plenary session was presided over by H.E. Zhao Peng, Vice Chairman of Xizang Autonomous Region. Keynote speeches were then given by ministers, ambassadors, and leading academics from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and China, along with representatives from the WHO and prominent scientific institutions.
